Ik-Rae (“IR”) Kim is Executive Chairman of DaouKiwoom Group which he founded in 1986. DaouKiwoom Group is a diversified business group headquartered in Korea with 17 subsidiaries globally in IT and financial services industries. As Executive Chairman, Mr. Kim provides strategic direction and leadership to the Group and participates actively in the Group’s key decisions particularly in the areas of corporate development and global expansion. Mr. Kim began his professional career at IBM. Prior to founding DaouKiwoom Group, Mr. Kim co-founded Qnix Corporation, the exclusive distributor for Microsoft’s licensed products in Korea. Mr. Kim served as Vice Chairman of various industry associations such as Korea Venture Capital Association (KVCA) and Korea Software Industry Association (KSIA), and as Chairman of Korea Application Service Provider Industry Consortium. Mr. Kim was awarded the Order of Industrial Service Merit by the Korean Government and was selected as the Businessman of the Year in the Korean financial sector category by Ernst & Young in 2011.
